Thursday, April 26, 2012 – Wilmington, NC – On Tuesday, May 1, 2012, Live Oak Bank will host the groundbreaking of their new headquarters located at 1741 Tiburon Drive. The building, located just minutes from their current location off of Shipyard Boulevard, is expected to be completed sometime during the first quarter of 2013. Mayor Saffo will preside over the ceremony, and local friends of the bank, those who have contributed to the planning and construction, employees and Board members will all join in the celebration.
“This has been a major project, so we are very pleased to have the construction underway,” stated Lee Williams, one of the founders of Live Oak Bank. “Our employees work hard to make our bank a success, so this is a way to say thank you. We feel that building a positive, warm working environment in this special, wooded setting will be conducive to our needs and will only boost productivity.”
“All of us at the bank are happy to call Wilmington home and are glad to be a part of the ever-creasing activity in this beach town. Between the growth taking place downtown by the riverfront, the potential for a minor league baseball team, and now our 36,000 sq. ft. headquarters, locals should be pleased to see their community blossom despite the recession,” commented Chip Mahan, CEO of Live Oak Bank. “We are grateful to be a part of the excitement.”
