Wednesday, November 28, 2012 – Wilmington, NC – On the evening of December 1, 2012, the seventh annual Wilmington Fur Ball will be held at the Country Club of Landfall. The black tie, red carpet gala will raise funds for the rescue and adoption efforts for two, local non-profit organizations: the Pender County Humane Society and Adopt an Angel of New Hanover County.

“Through the generosity of our sponsors and donors, the past six fundraising events have raised a combined $91,500, which has gone towards saving the lives of homeless animals in the New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender Counties,” stated Norma Troutman, Treasurer of the Wilmington Fur Ball Committee. “In the past, the Pender County Humane Society used their funds to assist in building their new shelter, and Adopt an Angel utilized the money to lower the cost of their spay and neuter program.”

“Live Oak Bank is happy to contribute towards the improved healthcare and shelter for abandoned animals in Wilmington and surrounding areas,” expressed Travis York, General Manager with Live Oak Bank. “As practice lenders to veterinarians, we try to support the industry and have a deep compassion towards animals in need.”
