Jimmy Mahan and a few members of the Live Oak Bank marketing team recently paid a visit to one of the most recently accredited veterinary programs in the nation at Utah State University. This is the first veterinary program in the state of Utah, which not only supports the growth of USU but also fulfills the need for more practicing vets in the state. The veterinary program was approved by Utah State University legislature on March 9th, 2011 allowing the first veterinary class to begin their studies this fall.
The Utah State Veterinary Program operates under Washington State University’s AVMA accreditation, therefore allowing USU veterinary students to spend their last two years of clinical education at Washington State University. WSU is one of the top veterinary schools in the country and will serve the USU students with state of the art education.
In beautiful and mountainous Logan, Utah, Jimmy spoke on behalf of Live Oak Bank to educate the new veterinary students about the challenges and options that lie ahead in their veterinary career. “Addressing the effects of student loan debt alongside opportunities for veterinary practice ownership is important for new veterinary students to begin thinking about”, said Jim Mahan. Live Oak Bank is very excited about the growth of veterinary education and will serve as an educational resource to all veterinary students and alumni.
