Adam Sherman

SVP - Head of Seniors Housing

Adam Sherman joined Live Oak Bank with 15 years of experience working in the healthcare real estate industry. His role at Live Oak is multi-faceted; he is responsible for building the bank’s national senior care lending platform. Adam's time is spent coaching colleagues on industry-related topics and working with prospective clients and industry influencers to identify and explore opportunities to serve the assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and home care sectors with financing. Prior to joining the team in Wilmington, NC, Adam honed his skill for developing new seniors housing investment opportunities from the Washington D.C. area, while working for national debt and equity investors focused on the sector, including GE Capital, CIT Healthcare, and Red Capital Group. He earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Emory University and a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Johns Hopkins University. Adam was an inaugural member of the NIC Future Leaders Council (2009-2011) and holds the CCIM designation.

Chad Borst

SVP - Seniors Housing

Chad Borst joined Live Oak Bank to improve the senior care team’s ability to serve seniors housing owners, operators and investment communities with their financing needs. Before Live Oak, Chad spent two years building out a real estate investment and asset management program at BM Eagle Holdings. Previously, he worked at Welltower (the largest healthcare REIT), where he most recently served as a VP of Investments and led a relationship investment team with over 200 facilities and total Welltower investments of $4.3 billion. His responsibilities included investment management, capital activities, asset management and transactional underwriting. Chad has also worked in different roles on each side of the transaction: senior housing investment sales with Eastdil Secured & VantAge Pointe, senior housing acquisitions for the largest senior housing operator with Brookdale, and debt underwriting for the largest middle-market healthcare lender at GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services. Chad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from The University of North Carolina Wilmington, where he graduated with honors. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading and playing sports.

Holly Walker

VP – Seniors Housing

Holly Walker joined Live Oak Bank in 2015 and is currently a senior analyst on the seniors housing team, where she evaluates new requests, underwrites transactions and facilitates closings and portfolio reviews. Prior to this, she developed her experience through progressive roles in closing and underwriting SBA, USDA and conventional products on a nationwide basis, including seniors housing loans. Holly graduated from the University of South Carolina Honors College with a bachelor's degree in Russian and minors in business administration and international relations. She furthered her studies earning her MBA from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. In her free time, Holly enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and playing golf.
