Problem

10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits Co. was the first craft distillery in Vail, Colorado. Being pioneers in one of America’s most popular ski destinations meant facing and overcoming unique challenges. Owners and distillers, Ryan and Christian, were faced with tremendous growth in demand and needed to build a new tasting room in nearby Gypsum, which was also their production facility. The facility needed more equipment to increase capacity.

Solution

Ryan and Christian reached out to Live Oak because they were tired of being strung along by local banks that felt their business was too risky. After meeting with Jeff Clark, the Vail duo obtained an SBA loan that allowed them to construct their new tasting room, purchase new tanks and other equipment and refinance some existing debt.

Securing this capital gave 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits Co. the flexibility it needed to grow confidently and pursue their goals of producing the best spirits in the region while honoring the past and present military roots of their community. Today, Ryan and Christian have expanded their spirit products and become a beacon for the Vail area.

Live Oak works with devoted craft distillery owners like Ryan and Christian every day to achieve new levels of growth by providing distillery expansion financing.
